Woolacombe is amongst the top five of European beaches, as awarded by the 2013 Travellers' Choice Beaches Awards, gathering the votes of travellers from TripAdvisor.

These are the top five beaches in the UK.

1. Rhossili Bay, Rhossili, Swansea

2. Woolacombe Beach, Woolacombe, Devon

3. Porthminster Beach, St Ives, Cornwall

4. Longsands Beach, North Tyneside, Tyne & Wear

5. Hengistbury Head, Bournemouth, Dorset
